Em visita à Europa, o professor Paulo Drews Jr. irá apresentar as linhas de pesquisa e os trabalhos realizados pelo Núcleo de Automação de Computação (Nautec). Nesta terça-feira (30), na Universidade de Coimbra, em Portugal. No INESC-Porto, em Porto, Portugal, será no dia 2 de maio; na Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), em Palma de Mallorca, no dia 3 de maio; e na Universidad de Extremadura em Cáceres na Espanha, no dia 14 de maio.

Title: Computer Vision and Robotics in FURG
Abstract: The Intelligent Robotics and Automation group was founded in 2000. Nowadays, it is composed by four research lines: devices and robots, graphics, sensor networs and high performance systems. The lecture shows the recent research in these areas in the group. Furthermore, the main research topics related of the speaker are focused: Change detection and underwater perception.
Short Bio: Paulo Lilles J. Drews Jr is M.Sc. in Computer Science at Federal University of Minas Gerais(UFMG), Brazil. His master thesis was focused in change detection and shape retrieval in 3D Maps. He is undergraduated in Computer Engineering in 2007 at Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), Brazil. His main research interests are computer vision, image processing, machine learning and robotics. He was a researcher at the ISR Coimbra's Mobile Robotics Lab, collaborating on Prometheus project and on the IRPS project. Currently, he is assistant professor at FURG and a PhD student in Computer Science at Federal University of Minas Gerais.
